DOH: Celebrate Christmas parties in open spaces, no buffets
THE Department of Health–Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) Region I urges the public to celebrate parties outdoors, to lessen the possible transmission of COVID-19.
Dr. Rheuel Bobis, DOH-CHD 1 focal person on COVID-19, said open spaces will help in decreasing COVD-19 cases because air circulation is crucial to prevent or lessen transmission.
Bobis also advised against food buffets as medical observations reveal that Covid is transmissible among guests in buffet style.
While restrictions have been relaxed, and wearing of face masks in enclosed spaces no longer mandatory, Bobis said to continue following the health protocols definitely help.
Children below the age of four are also discouraged to be brought in parties, as vaccines for four year-olds below are still not available.
Despite the National Vaccination Days in its second round on December 5, Bobis also urges parents not to bring their children to malls, especially during the Christmas rush. (Ahikam Pasion)
