AUTHORITIES have closed one lane in Quiray Bridge in Barangay Bocboc West, Aguilar town, after it showed signs of deterioration.

On Thursday afternoon, November 10, a hole with a one-meter diameter was spotted by concerned citizens in the area, prompting the local police, along with the LDRRMO and responders to proceed and cordon the area.

P/Major Mark Taminaya, officer-in-charge of Aguilar Municipal Police Station, said the Municipal Engineering Office will submit a report to the provincial government for further inspection.

“So far hindi pa naman ipapasara yung tulay, one lane passable lang as of now para hindi mabigatan yung tulay”, said Taminaya.

Heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses have been advised to take other alternate routes.

Only light vehicles will be allowed to pass through the bridge.

Since the closure of the Carlos P. Romulo Bridge in Bayambang for repairs, the Quiray Bridge has been a regular route for both light and heavy vehicles. (Ahikam Pasion)
