Two drowning incidents recorded in Mangaldan town
TWO drowning incidents have been recorded in Mangaldan town in the past week.
A Grade 8 student died after drowning along Angalacan River in Barangay Nibaliw, Mangaldan on Friday, October 14.
Gian Carlo Santos, 15, resident of Barangay Alitaya said town, was found dead along the river on Saturday, 15 hours after he was reported missing.
His father, Rodel, said his son asked for permission with his friends to attend a birthday party, and never mentioned taking a bath in the river.
His friends who were with him said he went missing after rescuing a friend from drowning.
Another 15-year-old minor, Julius Presto, of Barangay Salay said town, also drowned on October 15.
He was allegedly urged by his cousin to take a dip along the river.
His body was recovered at four in the afternoon, as policemen tried reviving him but to no avail. (Ahikam Pasion)
