A 37-year-old tricycle driver was found dead in a creek in Barangay San Miguel, Natividad on Monday morning, October 17.

Barangay CVO Anacleto Hidalgo was on his way to check his cow, when he discovered the body of victim Francis Sagun, a resident of Barangay Rizal, submerged in the creek, along with his tricycle.

This prompted Hidalgo to call on rescuers and the police.

The victim’s body was recovered in waist-deep waters of the creek.

Police investigation showed Sagun came from a drinking spree the night before, and concluded he was on his way home when he met an accident, and fell to the creek.

Drunk, he drowned to death, as he also sustained an injury in his forehead.

Cause of death was asphyxia by drowning.

Authorities urged the public not to drive when under the influence of alcohol. (Ahikam Pasion)
