THE Sangguniang Panlalawigan received a resolution seeking to declare all positions in the Sports Development Office under the Office of the Provincial Governor vacant.

The proposed ordinance was jointly filed by Third District Board Member Vici Ventanilla  and Fourth District Board Member Jerry Agerico Rosario.

The Provincial Sports and Development Office used to be headed by Modesto Operana who resigned when he run for mayor of Urbiztondo town and won, and was succeeded by Marlon Domalanta but who reportedly opted to retire in June before the new administration of Gov. Ramon Guico III took over.

At the same time, SP approved the ordinance filed by both Ventanilla and Rosario renaming the Provincial Sports Office into Provincial Community Development and Training Office, creating positions and providing funds for it.

The previous week, the SP passed an ordinance renaming the Provincial Employment Service Office (PESO) to Pangasinan PESO also authored by Ventanilla. Under the past Espino administration, Pangasinan PESO used to be headed by Alex Ferrer who retired.

Majority Floor Leader Napoleon Fontelera referred the proposed ordinance to the committees on appropriations, human resources and development, and labor and employment. (Leonardo Micua)
