VILLASIS town’s local government ordered a temporary total ban on the entry of broiler, spent hen or culls, native chicken and ducks to prevent the entry of the highly infectious Bird Flu Virus that can adversely affect the town’s poultry industry.

The order, contained in Executive Order No. 011-08-01 signed by Mayor Nonato Abrenica, banned the entry of fowls without the required permits effective August 1 and until further notice to protect the town’s poultry industry and the health of the general public shortly after the first case of bird flu on chicken was registered in San Carlos City recently.

Governor Ramon Guico III was the first to order a temporary total ban on the entry of culls in Pangasinan from provinces that registered incidents or outbreak of bird flu. Last July 30, the LGU of Malasiqui issued a similar temporary total ban after it intercepted a truck loaded with hundreds of boiler chicken that came from Nueva Ecija (104.7 IFM-Dagupan)
