Two kids drown in Urbiztondo
TWO minors, both aged 11, drowned in a pond in Barangay Pasibe West on Tuesday, August 9 in Urbiztondo town.
Victims Bryan Paragas and Aljay Frias, both Grade 6 residents, and residents of Barangay Anambongan, Basista, went fishing with the former’s dad Bonifacio.
When they wrapped up their fishing and Bonifacio went to get his tricycle, the duo playfully agreed to jump into the pond, thinking that it was shallow.
The duo who didn’t know how to swim found themselves inside the ten-feet deep pond.
Bonifacio immediately attempted to rescue the victims but failed.
Responders eventually recovered the duo, and rushed to separate hospitals where they were declared dead. (Ahikam Pasion)
