CLOSE to one million learners trooped to their respective schools in the region last Monday, August 22, when school year 2022 to 2023 officially begins.

This was reported  by Cesar Bucsit, spokesman of DepEd Region 1, who said that data as of August 18 showed that at least 948,027 pupils and students have already enrolled in Region 1, just a little less than the 1.3 million enrollees in the last school year, Bucsit said.

Bucsit attributed the increased enrollment to the intensive campaign of the Department of Education to convince parents that their children are safe from COVID-19 because of the strict enforcement of minimum health protocols inside and outside of classrooms.

Meanwhile,  all schools were ordered to still admit late enrollees. (104.7 IFM-Dagupan)
