Two teens drown in San Carlos river
TWO women were found lifeless on the deep part of a river along Barangay Guelew in San Carlos City on Monday, June 20.
The victims were identified as Abegail Rachelle Galam, 19, a resident of Sitio Boquig, Barangay Nagsaing in Calasiao town, and Annalyn Cosme, 18, a resident of Barangya Lebas, San Carlos City, both students.
San Carlos City chief of police, P/Lt.Col. Luis Ventura said it was Alfredo Madargos, 72 years old, a resident of Barangay Guelew, who chanced upon the lifeless body of a young girl – later identified as Galam. Barangay officials launched a retrieval operation upon receiving Madragos’ alert.
It was during the retrieval operations when Cosme’s body was discovered in the deeper part of the river.
Residents said the river is deep, making it difficult for people to swim in the area. (Ahikam Pasion)
