DAGUPAN City is set to build a Super Family Health Center in Barangay Bolosan utilizing the P16 million allotted for the project by the Department of Health (DOH), in addition to the proposed P150 million Dagupan City Hospital whose groundbreaking was made in Bonuan Binloc by outgoing Mayor Brian Lim two days before the election.

This was confirmed by Dr. Dalvie Casilang, city health officer, who said the Super Family Health Center is closer to being realized since the project obtained all permits, including a construction permit from the DOH.

“As soon as the other considerations are met, including the logistical requirements, construction of the project will start”,  assured Casilang who expects the project to be  completed before the end of 2022.

He said although funding of the Super Family Health Center came from the DOH. it will be operated by the City Health Office.

Super Family Health Center is a new concept in health care introduced by DOH and Dagupan City was chosen as one of the first beneficiaries of the program.

Dagupan was the first city in the country to achieve a universal health care under the DOH, through PhilHealth and the city not only improved its health care systems but also its primary health care facilities.

The Center will initially provide health consultation, x-ray and other diagnostic services and will soon have a tuberculosis clinic and its own birthing facility to unclog public and private hospitals with patients who don’t need hospital care or consultation with pulmonologist or specialists.

Meanwhile, he said the P150 million funding by the national government for the proposed city government hospital reported set on a donated land in Bonuan Binloc has not been released. (Butch Uka)
