Six-year-old child drowns in swimming pool

A six-year-old child died in a resort’s swimming pool in San Fabian town on Sunday, May 15.

The victim, Mark Joshua Estrada, from Marilao, Bulacan was with his family for an outing at the Greysands Beach and Resort in Barangay Nibaliw Vidal, when the incident happened.

Police said the family was packing to leave the venue when the mother, Paola Sandiego noticed her son missing.

The child was eventually found inside the swimming pool’s deepest part and was immediately rushed to the hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.

There was no life guard in the resort when the incident happened.

Meanwhile, in Agno town, 38-year-old Gilbert Bautista of Gerona, Tarlac, drowned while swimming at the beach in Barangay Macaboboni on Monday, May 16.

Bautista, who was with his family was under the influence of alcohol when he decided to take a dip in the beach.

Companion Harold Antonio saw the victim drowning and rushed to rescue him. But after applying CPR, he was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead. (Ahikam Pasion)
