A 15-year-old student died while her younger sister was injured after they were hit by a lightning while bathing under the rain outside their residence in Sitio Taew, Barangay Cobol, San Carlos City on May 15.

Joana Domantay, Grade 8, and her eight-year-old sister, Joyce Domantay, Grade 2 pupil, were playing under the rain when a lightning struck an acacia tree near them.

Their father Jessie Domantay rushed the two to Pangasinan Provincial Hospital but Joana was declared dead on arrival.

Joyce is being treated in the hospital. (Eva Visperas)
