Parents urged to enroll children in Grades, 1, 7, and 11
THE Department of Education (DepEd) in the Ilocos Region urges parents or guardians of Kindergarten-Grade 1 learners and Grades 7 and 11 students in public schools to help prepare for the school year 2022 by registering before April 30, the deadline.
In a phone interview, DepEd Ilocos Region Public Affairs Unit head Cesar Bucsit said the registration is in preparation for the DepEd for the school year 2022-2023, specifically, to anticipate the needed logistics and other resources to fully accommodate and support the students.
Bucsit said the early registration must be in person since Ilocos Region is now on Alert Level 1 and reminded the parents and guardians to strictly observe the minimum public health protocols.
Meanwhile, the incoming Grades 2 to 6, 8 to 10, and 12 are considered pre-registered for the next school year, thus there is no need for them to enlist for the early registration.
Although vaccination is not required for learners, Bucsit urged them to get vaccinated for their protection and other people .
The school year 2021-2022 will end on June 24 and graduation ceremonies may be held between June 27 to July 2. However, the schedules are still subject to changes. (Jerick Pasiliao)
