Capitol hit anew by another fake news
PROVINCIAL SCHOLARS TARGETED
THE provincial government warned the public particularly scholars of the Provincial Scholarship Program (PSP) about a disinformation campaign via text messages aimed at confusing the beneficiaries.
Provincial Administrator Nimrod Camba on April 18 issued the warning in the Province of Pangasinan (Official) Facebook account identifying a certain “Janice Dela Cruz” as the source of the text instructing the provincial scholars to claim their “scholarship assistance and to submit photocopy of their respective IDs as well as their grades obtained.”
Camba said there is no “Janice De La Cruz” in the Office of the Governor that is in charge of the Provincial Scholarship Program and no special instruction has been given recently to the scholars.
He requested scholars to call: Henry Cruz (0947-891-5611) or Erlinda Fernandez (0920-918-6016) to validate any text or email advice about the program.
It was the second fake news that targeted the provincial government over a two-week period by unscrupulous persons that seeks to put the provincial government in a bad light. (Leonardo Micua)
