32 sacks of Bolinao shell fishes seized in Dagupan
FEW hours after a red tide alert was raised in the coastal area of Bolinao by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), 32 sacks of assorted shell fishes being sold at the Magsaysay Market in Dagupan City were seized.
The contaminated shell fishes were seized at 1:30 a.m. on April 8 by members of the Bantay Ilog task force headed by Jessie Doria with the help of the Pubic Order and Safety Office (POSO), said Rolly Dulay, agriculture technologist at the City Agriculture Office.
Confiscated were 26 sacks of mussels, three sacks of shellfish called “kalwirt” and six sacks of “halaan”. (Leonardo Micua)
