Marcos echoes unity message to Pangasinenses
PRESIDENTIAL candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his UniTeam echoed to thousands of Dagupeños and Pangasinenses his team’s message of unity during their grand rally in different parts of vote-rich Pangasinan.
Speaking in Filipino before a cheering and swooning crowd, Marcos said their UniTeam’s mission is to make unity everyone’s mission.
He said he is the luckiest among the presidential bets because his vice presidential tandem, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, “is the strongest, most efficient, and who loves most the Philippines”.
He added that is the best symbol example of unity is the Marcos-Duterte tandem as someone from the north and one from Mindanao and their teammates who came from different parts in the country banded together “which I believe manifests our ability to unite the entire Filipino nation”.
“(It’s) because unity is our motivation. Our unity, to my opinion, is a first step so that we can do to rise above from the crisis of pandemic as well as economic crisis,” he said.
Marcos also stressed the need to help small businessmen, improve agriculture, revive the tourism industry, continue the ‘Build Build Build’ program started by President Rodrigo Duterte, to develop digital infrastructure, among others.
He also said that it is not enough that they rely on rich corporations “but I have very strong confidence that if Filipinos are united in their love, industry, kindness, we can overcome any challenges despite numerous difficulties, disasters that beset the country”.
Marcos said by nature, Filipinos are not quarrelsome and trouble-seekers. “Filipinos help each other, love each other and love our country, the Philippines,” he said that elicited louder cheer from the crowd.
“One thing we are proudest of, is that Filipinos are pro-bayanihan (a trait where one cares for one another),” he said.
Marcos first went to Alaminos City, Lingayen, Dagupan City and proceeded to Binalonan on Feb. 26. He continued his second day of grand rally in other areas in Pangasinan like San Carlos City, Bayambang and Rosales on Feb. 27. (Eva Visperas)
