THE local governments in Pangasinan are gearing up for another round of the country’s national inoculation drive next week in a bid to accommodate more Filipinos who want to receive their vaccines against COVID-19.

The third “Bayanihan Bakunahan” was initially scheduled on February 10 and 11.

In Region 1, the DOH Ilocos Center for Health Development urged all provincial and local vaccination operations centers, all implementing units, government agencies, and stakeholders to utilize various vaccination rollout strategies utilizing fixed sites, mega-vaccination sites, temporary post, and mobile teams.

In Malasiqui town, the Municipal Health Office is implementing the house to house or Suyod Strategy for those who are unable to visit the vaccination site.

Dr. Marlo De Guzman, municipal health officer, said, “Ginagawan naming ng one-stop-shop ‘yong mga senior citizens at ‘yong mga buntis kasi hindi sila pwedeng ihalo doon sa mga general population.”

The DOH in Ilocos eyed to inoculate to over 250,000 individuals during the third leg of the aggressive vaccination drive in the region.

As of February 11, administered in the region were 6,750,425 doses.

Of this, 66.2% or 3,541,235 were given their primary dose; 60.1% or 3,215,464 were fully vaccinated; and 11.37% or 399,428 have received their booster shot. (PIA Pangasinan)
