Asingan town offers free flu vaccine shots
THE Asingan local government inoculated 1,716 residents, aged three and up, with Influenza vaccine, who have not taken their first anti-Covid vaccine, during the vaccination activity held at the Hon. Sapigao Sports Complex on Friday.
Romel Aguilar, municipal information officer of Asingan, said the inoculation of influenza vaccine to the residents is part of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) response and management of the municipal government to provide protection to children three-years old and above and senior citizens who have not yet received their COVID-19 vaccines.
He said the initial target to be administered was only 1,000 doses but due to the overwhelming number of recipients who opted to be inoculated, the Municipal Health Office (MHO) requested for an additional supply of vaccines from the Department of Health.
He said the MHO administered another set of 350 flu shots on Jan. 31 on a first come-first serve basis. (PIA Pangasinan/EMSA)
