THE differences by among the members of the Sangguniang Bayan in Calasiao continued after four councilors decried the approval of the ad hoc committee report on the allocations of public funds in the town’s  annual budget that was presented during their session as “void ab initio” it being “highly irregular for multiple violations of law”.

In a letter dated Feb. 11, 2022 to Vice Mayor Mahadeva Das Mesina signed by Councilors Mamilyn ‘Maya” Caramat, Rogelio Danoli, Gerald Aficial and Kevin Macanlalay, they said the report they received on January 13 was signed by only 3 Ad Hoc Committee members when there were 7 members in attendance during their January 10 committee proceedings.

They maintained the submitted report was “in gross transgressions of Sections 7 and 8 of Rule X of the House Rules and Procedures” and “disregarded the important manifestations of some of the undersigned members.”

They also said omitted in the report were manifestations about the intended allocations particularly the exorbitance of the appropriations and the noted irregularities and questioned the validity of the report’s claim that the “Ad Hoc Committee Chairman’s opinion is to move on with the deliberation and approval of the annual budget since it was not shared by them.

The vice mayor’s reaction is still being sought. (Eva Visperas)
