BEWARE: P5K, 6 MONTHS JAIL

THE Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved the ordinance last Monday penalizing both the falsification of vaccination card and certificates and use of fake documents.

Fourth District Board Member Jeremy Agerico Rosario, author of the ordinance, said the ordinance provides a P5,000 fine and/or imprisonment of not less than one month but not more than six months or both such fine and imprisonment,” at the discretion of the proper court.”

Rosario said the ordinance was passed following reports of the Philippine National Police and some hospitals that criminal elements forge vaccination cards for a fee to enable unvaccinated persons to enter malls and other public places that require presentation of vaccination cards.

He said the report was also taken up in the Provincial Inter Agency Task Force meeting.

In separate moves, Board Member Jeanne Jinky Zaplan, Liga ng mga Barangay president, authored the resolution discouraging barangay captains from holding mass events or any gatherings amid the Omicron variant contagion while, Board Member Jerome Espino, provincial federation president of the Sangguniang Kabataan moved to suspend contact sports activities.
