Province’s 18,142 barangay volunteers get amelioration aid

THR Pangasinan provincial government released its amelioration aid to 18,142 barangay volunteer worker in time for the celebration of Christmas.

The beneficiaries are 12,322 Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), 2,608 Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPOs), 1,708 Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs), and 1,504 Day Care Workers.

Paying tribute to their remarkable efforts and contributions in the province, Governor Amado Espino III presented P2,000 to each barangay volunteer during Joint Amelioration Distribution held in various parts of the province from December 6 to 21.

Governor Espino repeatedly commended the outstanding sacrifices and dedication of the volunteer workers that greatly helped the provincial government’s efforts in combating COVID-19.

“Sa inyong lahat, kami ay nagpapasalamat sa inyong sakripisyo sa ating mga barangay,” said Gov. Espino as he noted the continued decline in COVID-19 active cases in Pangasinan.

He clarified that the provincial government earmarked a total of P61-million for the  annual amelioration distribution in the province, also included Civilian Volunteer Organizations (CVOs) or popularly known as barangay tanods.

“Naisip po ng provincial government na bigyan din ang ating mga kabarangay na CVO para matikman din nila at makasama na sila every year,”  headded.

The provincial chief executive also pledged the provincial government will continue to  strengthen its programs and services to uplift the lives of Pangasinenses.

“Kapalit ng inyong sakripisyo ay ang aming serbisyo sa pamahalaang panlalawigan… magtatrabaho kami para sa inyo,” he said.

The distribution activities were held in different venues per district.  (PIO/SMDG)
