Fire razes Aguilar mountain range
AUTHORITIES are still investigating the origin of a mountain fire in Brgy. Buer in Aguilar town on Tuesday, January 18.
In an interview, Fire Officer 1 Carl Pidlaoan said the fire broke out around 6 p.m. and they tried to penetrate the mountain range but failed to complete the task because their fire trucks could not infiltrate the area.
“We had to alert the barangay officials to closely monitor the direction of the fire in case it already threatens residential area,” he said adding the suspicion that the fire was caused by a grass fire.
The fire department is still determining the extent of damage caused by the fire.
The mountain range is one of the favorite destinations of hikers in the town. (Jerick Pasiliao)
