ONLY 439,371 VACCINATED

THE Ilocos Center for Health Development (ICHD) reported on Thursday (December 2) that only 439,371 persons were vaccinated during the three-day National Vaccination Days (NVD) from November 29 to December 1 in Region 1.

However, the number of vaccinated persons during the NVD fell short of the target 756,720 persons set to be vaccinated.

Dubbed Bayanihan Bakunahan sa Region 1, the three-day NVD was conducted in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan and Dagupan City.

As of December 2, Region 1 vaccinated 439,371 persons: 161,232 on the first day, 135,724 on the second day and 142,415 on the third day.

As expected, Pangasinan led in the number of people vaccinated during the NVD having reported 240,999. Pangasinan is the largest and most populous province in Region 1.

Ilocos Sur was second in the number of vaccinated persons with 64,467, while La Union reported 63,535 and Ilocos Norte, 59,117.

Dagupan City vaccinated 11,253 persons.

The vaccinated population included those from 12 years old and above.

Prior to NVD , the number of persons vaccinated in Region  1 for the first and second doses was 4,023,835. (Leonardo Micua/Ahikam Pasion)
