Vaccine rollout for minors inoculated 1,500 youngsters

THE vaccine rollout for minors, aged 12 to 17 years old, in Pangasinan saw the administration of the anti-COVID-19 vaccines to 1,500 youngsters from different places in Pangasinan for their first jab.

This was bared by Dr. Anna de Guzman, provincial health officer, who added that since the launching of the Pediatric Vaccination Roll-out of the provincial government last week, inoculation queues have become longer at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center gymnasium with many minors arriving  for their inoculation.

“The minors are responding very positively to the vaccination roll-out”, de Guzman said cheerfully.

Aside from minors, the provincial government Is also accepting walk-in adults.

De Guzman urged individuals with comorbidity who are interested in getting their COVID jabs to bring their medical certificates or medical clearances, aside from their ID, for their walk-in vaccination. Minors should be accompanied by a parent or a guardian.

She also urged the public to come early, as vaccination roll-out begins at 7 in the morning.

According to a report from the Center for Health Development (CHD) region 1, Pangasinan needs to inoculate 374,861 minors, representing more than 50% of the region’s 603,073 eligible pediatric population.

De Guzman said the provincial government aims to inoculate at least 1,000 minors daily.

She urged municipal executives to start their pediatric vaccination roll-out soon in order to achieve the target among the minors.

She expressed hope that the targeted children aged five to 11 will be all be inoculated during the first quarter of 2022. (Ahikam Pasion)
