THE Police Regional Office 1 covered court in San Fernando City, La Union, in cooperation with the Department of Health-Regional Office 1 and Ilocos Training Regional and Medical Center inoculated some 262 minors, aged 12 to 17, all dependents of police personnel in Region 1 last week.

P/Brig. General Emmanuel Peralta, regional director, said the vaccination was scheduled after the government announced the initial roll-out of vaccination for minors.

“Since the supply of vaccines are no more an issue, we should take the opportunity to get as many people vaccinated as possible. Especially that the education sector is now eyeing the opening of face-to-face classes come next year,” he said.

The Regional Medical and Dental Unit 1, headed by  P/Col. Col. Jessiemyr Protacio, administered the Moderna vaccine to the minors.

Meanwhile, of the 9,908 active PRO1 personnel, 87.4 percent or 8,660 have been fully-vaccinated while 10.74 percent or 1,064 have received their initial dose. The remaining 1.86 percent or 184 personnel who have yet to receive their vaccination have co-morbidities.
