SOME 464,240 COVID-19 vaccines arrive in Region 1 to augment the vaccination rollout in the provinces.

The Ilocos Center for Health Development (CHD 1 focal person Dr. Rheuel Bobis said the Department of Health delivered 131,040 vials of Pfizer vaccine; 57,200 of AstraZeneca; 152,000 of Sinovac and 24,000 thousand vials of Gamaleya Sputnik V.

The newly arrived vaccines will be distributed to the Provincial Health Offices (PHO) in the four provinces of the Ilocos Region, particularly in towns and cities that are running out of supply .

Meanwhile, Bobis said Pangasinan with its large population reported the least number of fully vaccinated individuals accounting for only 20.48 percent, compared to other provinces in Region 1, as of Nov. 2.

Pangasinan administered 32.13 percent with first dose ; 39.78 percent in La Union; 57.6 percent in Ilocos Sur while 55.15 percent in Ilocos Norte.

Ang malaking populasyon ng Pangasinan ang dahilan kung bakit medyo mababa ang percentage ng vaccination rate,” he said. (Jerick Pasiliao)
