THE mayor of Binmaley and his wife tested positive for COVID-19.

In a message Monday night, August 30, Mayor Simplicio Rosario said he and his wife, Lorna Grace, immediately placed themselves in quarantine in compliance with health protocol.

The mayor said he was asymptomatic while his wife was experiencing mild symptoms.

He asked for prayers of the people for their speedy recovery.

He advised his constituents not to be complacent because “anyone can be a silent carrier of it, and anyone can be infected”.

Meanwhile, the town municipal hall was temporarily closed starting on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 for disinfection operation but the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office remains on duty for medical and emergency response services.

A mandatory antigen testing of all employees was also scheduled.

Two municipal councilors Franco Francisco and Vismark Valerio, were also infected last week of COVID-19.

Valerio on August 28 posted on his social media account that he also contracted the virus, although he was already fully vaccinated. (Eva Visperas/Jerick Pasiliao)
