A FISHERMAN in Bolinao found floating in the sea for days was rescued in the waters of San Sebastian, Ilocos Sur on Sunday, August 8.

Romy Dulay, 53, a resident of Barangay Balingasay in Bolinao, sailed out to the sea onboard his fishing boat on Thursday, August 5, despite the heavy winds and rains brought about by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

When he failed to return home, his family reported him missing to the police.

On Sunday, he was found by Jimmy Baldeviso and his son Joshua, who, fortunately, were fishing in the waters of Barangay Apatot in said town.

Dulay was hanging on for dear life, keeping himself afloat using a worn-out Styrofoam ice box when he was found by the Baldeviso.

Dulay was immediately rushed to the Ilocos Sur District Hospital in Narvacan town for medical attention.

Meanwhile, Bolinao Mayor Alfonso Celeste immediately sent an ambulance, to fetch Dulay in Banaoang town in Ilocos Sur and was returned to his family on August 8, Sunday evening

Bolinao MDRRMO says Dulay arrived at around 10 P.M. Sunday. He was in good spirit and was not found suffering from any illness. (Ahikam Pasion)
