R1MC implements ‘no walk-in’ policy for vaccination
THE Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC) in Dagupan City is not accepting walk-in clients wanting to get inoculated with COVID-19 vaccine.
R1MC medical director Dr. Roland Joseph Mejia said that the no walk-in policy is being implemented to prevent overcrowding that could possibly cause the spread of COVID-19 cases because of violation of physical distancing, health and safety protocols.
R1MC continues to coordinate with various sectors and other government agencies for the scheduling of qualified individuals or employees for vaccination.
Mejia said inoculation is based on the COVID-19 vaccine prioritization of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).
To date, almost 20,000 individuals have been vaccinated in R1MC, including the work force of the hospital, he added.
Mejia said their employees who were initially hesitant to be vaccinated were convinced to take the jab in a bid to boost their immunity against the virus especially with other dreaded variants of COVID-19.
Last Thursday, August 12, some uniformed personnel were scheduled for vaccination. (Jerick Pasiliao)
