FOR COVID VAX, TESTING

ON Monday, the San Carlos City government launched its first mall-based vaccination site at the City Mall after it partnered with shopping malls in the area for its vaccination rollout against COVID-19 virus.

City Mayor Julier Resuello said the mall is the 11th vaccination site in the city as additional venue in preparation for the arrival of more vaccines for San Carlenians.

Other vaccination sites are in the city’s health office, rural health units and private hospitals.

The mayor reiterated his appeal to the national government for more doses of vaccine since San Carlos is one of the most populated cities in Pangasinan.

The city government also started testing its locally-developed apparatus that issues an identification card to residents who have been vaccinated.

At the same time, a drive-through saliva collection site for the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test at the Magic Mall was also launched. The collection site was launched with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC)-Pangasinan chapter and the Magic Group of Companies.

It’s the third PRC saliva RT-PCR test collection site in the province of Pangasinan.

Resuello said the health-related programs help indigent residents who need RT-PCR tests to apply for a job and those who had close contact with people who tested positive for COVID-19.

A signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) also took place between and among PRC- Pangasinan Chair of the board of directors Maybelyn Fernandez; Dagupan City Mayor Marc Brian Lim representing his mother, Magic Group of Companies general manager Celia Lim; San Carlos City Mayor Julier Resuello; and PRC-Pangasinan Director, Dr. Ma. Lilia Posadas-Juan. (PIA Pangasinan/ VHS)
