DUE TO INITIAL MINOR NEGATIVE EFFECTS

MORE than 2,000 persons that were already inoculated with their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine still have to complete their vaccination protocol with the second dose.

Department of Health Center for Health Development 1 (DOH-CHD 1) spokesperson Dr. Rheuel Bobis said the hesitant inoculated residents might be those that experienced minor adverse effects upon receiving the first dose of the vaccine.

He clarified that some of that numbers are undergoing isolation or quarantine after having a direct exposure to COVID-19 patients who contracted the virus.

Based on the data as of June 7, there were 225,291 residents in the region that were vaccinated but only 54,553 completed the two doses protocol.

However, in Pangasinan, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Anna De Guzman said a more positive response of Pangasinenses was seen among those that were inoculated with the first dose.

She said 65,764  got the first dose and 22,953 have completed the vaccine protocol.

Health authorities urged residents to complete the two doses of COVID-19 vaccine to have stronger immunity against the dreaded virus. (Jerick Pasiliao)
