THE Department of Health – Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) Region 1 confirmed that 59 percent of healthcare workers (HCW) or 46,789 persons in the region have been inoculated.

Meanwhile, Dr. Rheuel Bobis, CHD spokesperson, said 0.7 percent, or 3,991 senior citizens received their vaccines.

Of the inoculated HCWs, Bobis said only about 14,700 completed their first and second doses, admitting that the slow vaccination is due to limited vaccine supply.

However, Bobis believes the situation may improve on May-June, because of the expected arrival of more vaccines at which time more vaccinators will be needed to inoculate as many because vaccines have a very limited shelf life.

Meanwhile, the Pangasinan PHO requested for 295,211 vaccine doses, that does not include vaccines for A3 and A4. (A3 group mainly refers to persons with comorbidity).

Dagupan City’s master list revealed there are 12,921 more senior citizens to be inoculated and will be given priority once the vaccines arrive. (Ahikam Pasion)
