SP revokes deed of donation to former PNP property
THE Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) has granted the request of the Dagupan City Police Station to revoke the deed of donation it entered with the Dagupan City government in 2006 over a property on Hererro-Perez where the old Dagupan City Police Station used to be located.
The Dagupan PNP station has since transferred to its new location in Barangay Poblacion Oeste, but the lot on Hererro-Perez remains in the name of the Dagupan City Police.
The property is now occupied by the Dagupan City Diagnostic and Lying-in Center of the City Health Office (CHO) established during the administration of former Mayor Belen Fernandez.
It was the late Mayor Benjamin Lim who executed the deed of donation for the Herero-Perez property in 2006.
Councilor Jose Neto Tamayo, chairman on the committee on laws, ordinances and judiciary of the SP, moved for the revocation of the 2006 deed of donation with Councilor Luis Samson Jr., SP chairman on peace and order, as co- author.
Tamayo said since the Dagupan City Police Station has already been transferred to a property owned by the city in Poblacion Oeste and that the same is already occupied by the CHO, the deed of donation must be deemed revoked.
The transfer of the Dagupan City Police Station to its new location happened during the administration of late Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr.
The PNP national headquarters at Camp Crame noted the deed of donation when it conducted an inventory of all PNP properties nationwide. (Leonardo Micua)
