15 COVID patients die in one day

DAGUPAN LOGS 204 NEW CASES

THE province lost 15 ‘kabaleyans’ to COVID-19 on August 24 as the infection surged with 344 new active cases.

In its update that day, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported 27 cases higher than Monday’s 317 new cases.

Dagupan City logged 204 new active cases, while Calasiao registered 142, Bayambang, 98; San Carlos, 89; Pozorrubio, 87; and Urdaneta City, 87.

The 15 fatalities were reported in two cities and 9 towns: Dagupan City (4), two in Pozorrubio (2), and one death each in Alaminos City, Bayambang, Lingayen, Malasiqui, Mangaldan, Mangatarem, Rosales, San Fabian, and Tayug.

As of last week, 469 patients already died in Pangasinan.

The number of confirmed cases reported in the province as of last week was 17,445 and 15,192 recovered. Number of active cases has risen to 1,784.

Dr. Anna de Guzman, PHO Chief, said the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital, and other district and community hospitals, along with private hospitals, are already nearly fully occupied.
