3 dead in Carmen Bridge mishap

THREE persons died when their car collided with a truck at the Don Teofilo Bridge in Barangay Carmen, Rosales town Wednesday afternoon, August 16.

Police report reveals a Toyota Wigo being driven by victims Maria Patricia Facun, 21, a resident of Barangay Salcedo, San Manuel, Tarlac; and passengers Kenneth Darang, 24, of Barangay Zone 1, Rosales town, Kisha Hannah Castro, 22, of Barangay Poblacion in Balungao town, and Jewelle Anne Masangkay, a resident of Rosales town, collided with a forward truck being driven by Wilson Idava, 40, a resident of San Ildefonso, Bulacan.

Investigation says Idava was traversing the bridge when he saw the Toyota Wigo encroaching on the opposite lane.

Idava gave way and slowed down to allow the encroaching car pass, but the speeding Wigo still crashed into the truck.

The victims suffered severe injuries in different parts of their bodies, but Facun, Darang, and Masangkay were all declared dead on arrival.

Castro is still under observation. Idava, the truck driver, is unscathed.

Probe regarding the incident is ongoing.

22-year-old drowns in Aloragat River

A 22-year-old man drowned at the Aloragat River in Barangay Inmanduyan, Laoac town.

Victim was identified as Bobby Gines, a resident of said place.

Police investigation reveals the victim, along with his two minor friends went to the river to catch fish.

Gines immediately dove in the river, but was not able to resurface. He was eventually found lifeless and floating along the river.

Locals said the river is ten feet deep.

2 Indian nationals injured in motorcycle accident

TWO Indian Nationals were injured when their motorcycle crashed along the new De Venecia Highway in Barangay Lucao, Dagupan City.

Victims were identified as driver Zuver Khen, along with companion Kshitij Sundeiem, both 22 years old, students, and currently residing in Barangay Lucao.

Police investigation reveals the victims were traversing the new De Venecia Highway southbound when Khen lost control of the steering wheel, causing them to crash on a concrete barrier.

Police are still determining whether the suspects were drunk, but vehicular accidents have been common in said part of the highway.

Although witnesses said the victims were speeding and were not able to slow down near the curved area, causing them to crash.

The victims are currently in the hospital, and are still under observation.

Probe is still ongoing.

Grocery in Alcala robbed

STILL unidentified suspects robbed a grocery store in Alcala town, carting away around P200,000.

Police investigation reveals the incident was discovered when Christine Reccion, Area Manager noticed the roof and ceiling of the manager’s office destroyed, leading them to suspect something happened.

The employees immediately did an inventory of the items, and discovered that the cash from two days’ sales were carted away.

The cash was stored in a plastic container placed under the table.

Police are still investigating the incident, and are currently looking into recent details of similar crimes in the area.
