Dagupan drug HVT arrested in Manaoag
A HIGH value target (HVT) in illegal drugs campaign in Dagupan City was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation conducted at past 9 p.m. on March 15 in Manaoag town by joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Manaoag Police.
Arrested was Ronald Torio, 45, of Arellano Street in Dagupan City, who fell in an entrapment operation conducted by PDEA and the police when he negotiated to sell illegal drugs to an undercover agent.
Torio agreed to sell 50 grams of shabu for P340,000 to an undercover PDEA agent in an area in Barangay Poblacion. As soon as Torio received one P1,000 bill and 149 copies of photocopied bills, the undercover agent immediately arrested him.
The operation was spearheaded by Richie Camacho, PDEA provincial director in Pangasinan.
Lawmen said an unidentified companion of Torio during the transaction who managed to escape, is now the subject of manhunt by PDEA and the police.
Torio is known to supply illegal drugs to some drug dependents in various barangays in Dagupan but he decided to move his and his cohort’s operations after they sensed that they were under surveillance in Dagupan.
He will be charged for violation of Section 5 of Article II of Republic Act 9165. (Butch Uka)
