PNP REGION 1’S FEBRUARY SCORECARD

THE cumulative records of  the police provincial offices in Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur and La Union showed 252 most wanted  persons (MWP) and 60 drug personalities  were arrested by the police in Region 1 from February 1 to 28 this year.

P/Brigadier General John Chua, police Region 1 director, revealed that one of the MWPs arrested carried a reward for his arrest  covered by a Memorandum Circular of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Five others were MWP in the regional level, 12 were  provincial MWPs,  36 were municipal MWPs and  198  were considered as other wanted persons.

Meanwhile, the 60 drug personalities arrested last month were the result of 54 police anti-drug operations. The number was complemented by police drug clearing operations that led to the arrest of 22 drug personalities and seizure of 101.6 grams of shabu  and 330 grams of marijuana with combined standard value of P728, 165.28.

The campaign against illegal gambling resulted in the arrest of 567 individuals and confiscation of P58,874 bets.

The Region 1 police also seized 146 small arms and weapons  from 20 persons while PRO  1 confiscated P198,153.95 worth of lumber from 10 violators in the campaign against illegal cutting of trees.

The region’s peace and order indicator showed 64 index crimes, which is 37 percent lower than the 101 index crimes recorded for the same period in 2022.

Index crimes include murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft and carnaping.
