Wanted man from Infanta arrested in Leyte

A wanted man from Infanta town who had a P140,000 reward for his capture by the Department of the Interior and Local Government was arrested by joint police elements led by the Regional Police Mobile Force 1, headed by P/Lt. Colonel Dominic Guerrero in Palompon town in Leyte last November 7.

Arrested was Joselito Lumapas, the primary suspect in the stabbing to the death of couple Ricardo Oigan and Aida Oigan on October 13, 2018 in Barangay Nangalisan, Infanta.

After committing the double murder, Lumapas went into hiding in Palompon, Lete where he was born.

Operatives of RMFB 1, aided by the Palompon, Leye police, implemented the Alias Warrant issued by Regional Trial Court presiding judge Loreto Alog Jr, of Branch 70 in Burgos town, where Lumapas was charged in Criminal Case Nos. B-1408 and B-1409 for the crimes of murder with no recommended bail bond.

After his arrest, the accused was brought to the Palompon Police StationĀ for temporary safekeeping before he was brought to the RTC in Burgos.

For this, P/Brigadier General John Chua, police regional director 1, commended RMFB 1 and Guerrero for a job well-done. (Leonardo Micua)
