105 illegal mufflers seized, destroyed
THE Mangatarem Police seized and destroyed 105 illegal motorcycle mufflers on September 29 in line with its intensified campaign to enforce Municipal Ordinance No. 07-2011.
P/Major Arturo Melchor Jr., Mangatarem chief of police, said Mayor Ramil Ventanilla personally drove the road paver that crushed the illegal mufflers.
Major Melchor said most of the mufflers that were destroyed were seized from motorcycle owners in the town, most of whom are teens, after five months of continuous enforcement of the ordinance.
Municipal Ordinance No. 07-2011 imposes fines for violators, namely a fine of P300 for the first offense, P500 for second office and P1,000 for third offense, aside from the confiscation of the illegal mufflers. (104.7 IFM Dagupan)
