A motorcycle rider will be slapped with violations of Article 151 of the Revised Penal  Code and of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) after he was caught by the police following a brief chase, after he tried to elude arrest by running away from lawmen conducting Oplan Sita in Barangay Mamaradlo, San Carlos City at around 1:15 a.m. on September 15.

The suspect was identified as Kenneth John Zacarias, 31, of Barangay Roxas in San Carlos City, who was going home when he was accosted by lawmen enforcing Oplan Sita.

He was riding on his motorcycle when flagged down by policemen conducting Oplan Sita. But he ignored the lawmen and instead accelerated the speed of his motorcycle, prompting the latter to give him a brief chase. When caught up, policemen put him on a body check to find out if he had a concealed weapon.

And when he was opening his sling bag to get his driver’s license and copies of the OR/CR of his motorcycle, Pat. Marvin Bautista saw on plain view one sachet of suspected shabu in his bag.

Moreover, his motorcycle had no plate number. (Leonardo Micua)
