She told the city police: “Asahan ng mga kapulisan ,na kaisa ako sa kanilang layunin na mapanatiling mapayapa ang lungsod.”

Avenido was a battalion commander of the Special Action Force in Zamboanga City before he was designated OIC of the Dagupan police,.

On the arrest of Villaroman, Fernandez warned city residents engaging in illegal drugs that her administration will revive and further intensify her anti-illegal drugs campaign in the barangays that she launched to support the drug war declared by  then President Duterte in in 2016.

At the same time, she urged the Sanggunian Panlungsod to allocate funds to enable her to restore and continue her rehabilitation. program for the benefit of arrested drug users.

The city government under her stewardship in her previous term, bankrolled the rehabilitation of drug dependents from poor families who could not afford costs of rehab. (Leonardo Micua)
