NPA couple surrender to Pangasinan police

A couple who served as regulars of  the New People’s Army (NPA), Nueva-Ecija Eastern Pangasinan Committee, recently surrendered to the Pangasinan police.

The Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) led by P/Col. Richmond Tadina, police director, confirmed that couple “Ka Arteng” and ”Ka Agsaoay”, both 65 and residents of Sitio Saez, Barangay Carayacan, San Quintin town, voluntarily surrendered to San Maria Police Station on April 18.

The surrender of the two was a result of the relentless efforts of the combined police units  that led to the withdrawal of the couple’s support to the Nueva-Ecija Eastern Pangasinan Committee headed by Ka Tirso as secretary that operates in Umingan, San Quintin, Natividad, San Nicolas and Tayug, all of Pangasinan and Lupao, Nueva Ecija.

The former rebels also turned over one rifle grenade and one homemade firearm cal. 22 with one magazine without ammunition.

“I commend the Sta. Maria Police Station for another successful accomplishment. This is a product of our commitment to securing our province against the threat of communist terrorism under NTF ELCAC  (National Task Force to end Local Communist Armed Conflict) with the active support of local government units and other government agencies,” Tadina said.
