REGION 1 was placed under “Alert Level Blue” by the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Region 1 (RDRRMC), throughout the observance of the Hoy Week.

Despite weather forecast that the region will not be hit by Typhoon Basyang and Tropical Depression Agaton, PAGASA, was also on alert for regular tropical cyclone bulletins and rain shower advisory.

Local DRRMs were directed to monitor tourist and pilgrimage sites for implementation of minimum public health standards.

Coordination with the police chiefs provincewide was also assessed.

Meanwhile, the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) was also on heightened alert.

P/Major Katelyn Awingan, PPO information officer, said police personnel were deployed throughout the province to respond to crimes, accidents, and other unexpected occurrences.

First aid hubs were installed in all major tourist and pilgrimage sites in the province to cater to the public’s needs. (Ahikam Pasion)
