Pangasinan PNP on alert for the Holy Week, SumVac

THE Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) is on heightened alert for the observance of Holy Week and the rest of the summer vacation this year.

PPPO information officer P/Major Katelyn Awingan said the police provincial command already issued guidelines to all the chiefs of police in the province to ensure a peaceful and orderly Holy Week.

She said police personnel in all stations in the province will monitor places of worship and other areas of convergence such as tourist destinations and bus terminals.

To fully cover the province’s activities, the mission will be supported by an augmentation force from the Mobile Force Company and force multipliers at the barangays.

All chiefs of police have already coordinated with various local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management offices for immediate and effective response to reported incidents during the period.

All personnel, particularly of tourist police units, have been trained to handle first aid emergency situations.

Meanwhile, Awingan reiterated the need for residents to comply with the minimum health and safety protocols to prevent the further transmission of COVID-19 and to remind their visitors to always carry their vaccination cards and IDs to facilitate their entry to any establishments, church.  (Jerick Pasiliao)
