3 fishermen apprehended for illegal fishing

THREE fishermen were apprehended on September 29 by the Pangasinan Maritime Police  Station in Tondaligan Park for conducting alleged destructive practices within the waters of Dagupan City.

The suspects, Presaldo Burcerna, 50; and Rogelio Gabrfiuel, 56, both of Bonuan Gueset in Dagupan City; and  Ronny Gadayos, 41, of Nibaliw West Vidal, San Fabian were charged with violation of Dagupan City Ordinance 1768-2003.

They were apprehended while fishing a few hundred meters away from the shoreline of Dagupan doing illegal fishing operations on board motorized ban as marked “AJ”, “Neslanio” and “Sanjo”, respectively.

Police personnel of Pangasinan MARPSTA led by P/MS Robert Cayabyab, P/SS Jerin Nabor and Pat. Carlo Manzano, under the direct supervision of P/Capt. Denny Torres apprehended the suspects while conducting seaborne operations along the seawaters of the Lingayen  Gulf.

Seized from the fishermen were fish nets measuring 20 meters, their fish catch and their respective motorized bancas.

After their processing at the Maritime Police Station, the fishermen were released. (Butch Uka)
