Man stabs self inside school compound
A man suffering from depression repeatedly stabbed himself inside the Eastern Pangasinan Agricultural College compound in Barangay Paitan in Sta. Maria town on June 3.
Rolando Capillan, 50, a resident of Barangay San Mariano in the town, was with his two minor children when they boarded a tricycle on their way home when he instructed the driver to stop in front of the school.
Capillan asked the security guard who is known to him for a knife and soon as he gets one, he started stabbing himself several times and walked inside the school campus.
Employees and staff of said school tried to pacify the victim but he continued stabbing himself until he lost consciousness. The incident was witnessed by his children and others in the area.
He was rushed to a hospital in Tayug for treatment and survives.
Police investigation showed Capillan is undergoing medication due to depression. (Eva Visperas)
