THE Manaoag local government earned two prestigious awards for its programs against illegal drugs during the 2024 Regional Peace and Order and Anti-Drug Abuse Council awards ceremony held at the La Union Convention Center in San Fernando City on November 18.

The municipality was named Regional Winner for High Functional Anti-Drug Abuse Council and High Performing Municipal Peace and Order Council by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Region 1.

Mayor Jeremy Agerico Rosario attributed the two awards to the collaborative efforts of the local government, Philippine National Police, Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils, and the community.

Since Rosario’s term began in 2022, Manaoag transformed from having only two drug-cleared barangays to achieving a 100% drug-cleared status.

The mayor vowed to continue efforts in ensuring safer and healthier communities in the entire town. (Shara Joy Cornel/Intern)
