THE Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) Dagupan City Scout Council welcomed Mayor Belen Fernandez as its new president during the election of council officers on February 16 with the participation of some 37 GSP board members. The mayor said she considers it an honor for the GSP to entrust to her the promotion of the welfare of scouts as she continues to prioritize educational reforms for Dagupan. (Dagupan CIO)

FISH DEBONERS NG MALIMGAS TRAIN ON FOOD SAFETY
FIFTY bangus deboners at the Malimgas Market will undergo training on ‘Good Hygienic Practices in Fish Processing’ organized by the City Agriculture Office and sponsored by the Winrock International on February 20 at the City Astrodome.
The training seminar was organized to impress upon the present group of deboners the importance of food safety, proper and hygienic handling and preparation and storage of food and prevent food-borne illness and disease outbreaks.
Acting City Mayor Bryan Kua thanks the Winrock for the opportunity to further educate the deboners. On hand at the training were personnel of CAO and City Nutrition Office. (Dagupan CIOs)

HANDS-ONLY CPR TRAINING TO HELP SAVE LIVES
MAYOR Belen Fernandez learned the basics of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) during the Hands Only CPR Training conducted by the City Health Office (CHO) in cooperation with the Philippine Heart Association Inc.-Northwestern Luzon Chapter and the Disaster Risk Reduction & Management in Health on February 16 at the City Astrodome as part of National CPR Awareness Campaign 2024.
Medical frontliners like doctors and nurses from the CHO, barangay health workers and the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Councils joined the activity to strengthen community resilience because ‘Hands-On CPR’ is a life-saving technique in the event of cardiac arrest. Mayor Fernandez thanked Dr. Jonahan Ramirez, Dr. Abegail Vinluan, Dr. Art Pitargue, Dr. Efren Jovellanos, Dr. Doris Jovellanos, Dr. Emily Lapeña, Getz Pharma, City Health Officer Dr. Ophelia Ticsay-Terrado and SK Federation President Bradley Benavides for their support to the activity.
