Villasis lifts lockdown in COVID-19 infected village

THE Villasis Anti-COVID-19 Task Force lifted the lockdown it earlier imposed on Poblacion Zone V and restored its Modified General Community Quarantine status effective April 20.

In a resolution, signed by Roderick R. Mina, executive officer of the VAC-19 task force, approved by Mayor Nonato Abrenica, recalled that on April 9 residents of Poblacion Zone V called on the authorities to place their Barangay under Extreme Community Quarantine or lockdown when it registered 23 COVID-19 active cases.

But subsequently, seven of the 23 cases registered remained and the other cases were expected to be listed as having recovered by April 14.

Dr. Gloria Liberato, municipal heath officer, moved for the lifting of the down of Poblacion Zone V, and it was seconded by all members of the task force.

Based on the Provincial Health Office’s monitoring, Villasis and neighbor Malasiqui, were fifth in the COVID-19 watchlist of with identical 19 cases as of 6:00 p.m. on April 21. (Leonardo Micua)
