THE 256 anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the Region 1 police from February 1 to April 6 resulted in the arrest of 260 drug personalities and the confiscation of 136.0879 grams of shabu.
P/Brig.Gen. Emmanuel Peralta, Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) director, said the region’s intensified conduct of Simultaneous Anti- Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) yielded significant results in the campaign against illegal drugs.
Also seized during this period were 3,168.2725 grams of marijuana, 11 firearms and two explosives.
Synchronized marijuana eradication operations were also done by Philippine National Police units region-wide where 25,113 fully-grown marijuana (MJ) plants, 6,695 MJ seedlings, 3,000 grams of dried MJ leaves with a total Dangerous Drugs Board value of P6,150,400 were uprooted and destroyed.
“PRO1 will continuously keep its track on our mandates especially in curbing the supply of illegal drugs,” Peralta said.
He added that their intensified anti-illegal drug operations are anchored with their objective of blocking illegal drug supply routes, neutralizing illegal drug groups and arresting high-value individuals and their networks.
“Through this, we could address illegal drug menace in the society,’’ he said. (Eva Visperas)
